About the race

Welcome to the 5th Annual Be Happy 5K. Join us at Cleary Lake Beach in Prior Lake, or run it virtually from anywhere. Run it, walk it, do yoga, cheer on the kids, or log your miles wherever you are.

New for 2026: a Speed Yoga option for people who would rather not run or walk. And yes, this event is dog friendly. Bring them along.

5K Run Starts 8:00 AM · awards for top 3 men and top 3 women

The main event. A 5K at Cleary Lake, run at whatever pace you feel like that morning. Plenty of people race it. More people jog it, walk part of it, or push a stroller through it.

5K Walk Starts 8:01 AM · same course, no pressure

Same route, same finish line, same party. Walkers start just after the runners. Strollers, kids, and dogs are all welcome to walk it with you.

Speed Yoga, new for 2026 9:00 AM · led by Kenzie Johnson of CorePower Maple Grove

An all levels flow at 9:00 AM, led by Kenzie Johnson from CorePower Yoga in Maple Grove. It's included with your ticket, so run or walk first, then roll out a mat, or just check out the vendors instead. Bring a towel!

Kids Fun Run (50-Yard Dash) Starts 7:55 AM · ages 13 and under

The best twelve seconds of the morning. A straight 50 yard sprint for kids 13 and under, run first so the whole crowd is there to cheer.
